3 Dragon Fruit Recipes Under 3 Minutes

With its bright pink skin, green spikes and unique name, chances are dragon fruit has caught your attention in the grocery store at one point or another. Belonging from the cactus family, it could be a little intimidating at first, but get past your inhibitions and you will discover that it is a delicious fruit that can be enjoyed in a number of ways.

And we all love a good meal that fits our busy schedules and is easy to whip up, right? Dragon fruit can be used as a healthy midday snack, can be tossed in a salad or as a smoothie. It tastes amazing, offers a pop of colour to your plate and supplies essential nutrients, prebiotic fibres and beneficial plant compounds — all in a low-calorie serving.

1. Dragon fruit smoothie bowl (For the Instagram worthy photos)

  • 1 cup dragon fruit chopped 
  • 1 banana chopped 
  • 1 cup mango chopped 
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • ⅓ cup yoghurt/ curd
  • 1 tbsp Living Food Company Nut Butter


  • Chia seeds
  • ½ cup freshly grated coconuts
  • Muesli

Blend all the fruits, honey, yoghurt/curd, and nut butter together until it takes on an ice cream-like consistency, then pour into your breakfast bowl. Top it with chia seeds, freshly grated coconuts, muesli and dig in!


2. Unicorn Smoothie (because who doesn't love some magic in life)

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup orange juice (or use more water)
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 dragon fruit

Blend dragon fruit with water, orange juice and some fruits. Pour it in your favourite glass, top it with some fruits of your choice or whipped cream and enjoy!



3. Dragon Fruit- Avocado Salad

  • 1 cup dragon fruit chopped
  • 2 cup Living Food Avocado
  • 1 ripe avocado 
  • ½ tsp Living Food Cold- Pressed Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Living Food Honey Mustard Salad Dressing
  • ½ cup grated cheese of your choice

Toss the avocado in honey-mustard salad dressing and olive oil. Add the chopped dragon fruit and avocado with some crumbled cheese on top of it. And there you go, you have the easiest and delicious salad of the season.

See, we told ya, Dragon fruit is a truly versatile fruit that can be eaten raw or you can throw it on the grill like some other fruits. Toss it into a fruit salad. Cut it into a salsa. Churn it into ice cream. Squeeze it into juice or water. Use it as a topping for Greek yoghurt. Or freeze it and blend it into a smoothie just how we did.
