How to Use Sambhar Powder:
Pressure cook 1 cup Toor dal with a pinch of turmeric and a drop of oil. Make a tadka of mustard seeds, curry leaves and your choice of oil. Add 1 chopped onion and saute till brown.
Add cooked dal, 3 tsp of sambhar powder, steamed veggies (like radish, beans, carrots, etc). Add 2 tbsps of tamarind paste, 2 tbsps of jaggery (optional) and salt to taste.
Boil for 10 minutes, add chopped coriander and serve hot with rice, ghee and the Original Murukku to add a crunch!
How to Use Pepper Rasam Powder:
- Pepper Rasam Podi: 1 Tbsp
- Tamarind: 1 small lime size piece (15 gms)
- Garlic: 4 cloves crushed
- Water: 2 1/2 cups
- Freshly chopped coriander (optional)
- Curry leaves: 1 sprig
- Mustard Seeds: For garnish
Mix all ingredients, set aside for 10 minutes. Heat the mixture till bubbles form around the vessel. Do not boil. Remove from the stove and garnish with mustard seeds, curry leaves and coriander.
Serve with hot rice, ghee & the Original Murukku to add a crunch!
