Nutty in taste & creamy in texture, the Black Chickpea (Whole) has a firm but tender texture when cooked. It is an all-time favourite in Indian cuisine and is a great source of iron & folate. Black Chickpea can be sprouted or soaked and then boiled to be added to a variety of gravies, salads and subzis.
The combination of sprouted black chickpeas with onion, tomatoes and fiery Indian spices makes for an exceptional snack or salad. A variety of dishes can be made using this lentil, including chana gravy, chana masala, salads and bhel.
Our Kala Chana has no added chemicals, polishes or colours. It is organically grown using sustainable agricultural practices.
How to use: To prepare Kala Chana for dal or curry, soak for 8-10 hours or overnight and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles. To make sprouts, soak for 24-36 hours till white roots emerge and the chickpea is soft to eat. Rinse well before consuming. You can also add boiled or sprouted Kala Chana Dal to chaats and salads.
