Lightly sweet & earthy in taste, Green Gram (Split - With Skin) is a traditional ingredient in Indian cooking. Cooked with the right amount of seasoning, it becomes soft and tender. This classic Indian staple food is light on the stomach and a good source of protein and fibre.

Usually, green gram is cooked in a pressure cooker, and tadka is added on top to enhance the flavour. It is popularly used to make sweet or savoury dishes like dal, moong chilka vada & halwa.

Our Moong Chilka has no added chemicals, polishes or colours. It is organically grown using sustainable agricultural practices.

How to use: To prepare Green Gram for curry, soak for 4-5 hours and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles. To make sprouts, soak for 8-12 hours till white roots emerge and the green gram is soft to eat. Rinse well before consuming. You can also add boiled or sprouted Green Gram to chaats and salads.
